I like when stuff goes a little wrong.
I like when the ketchup pours out too fast and Peckinpahs the fries.
I like when waves snatch your flip-flops, and you chase them into the laughing sea.
I like when I can reboot the glitchy cable box, so that I can watch more overpriced TV.
Full disclosure: Most of the things I fix end up breaking again. But if I half-fixed them once, I can half-fix them again.
The other day, I tried to flush the woodpeckers from Suzanne’s creaky mountain cabin, then accidentally slimed her siding, foam filler dribbling down the exterior wall.
Day by day, I’m becoming the Ted Lasso of romance and home repair.
