"Hope, love, gratitude....the holy trinity of a really solid life." Well, that just nailed it, My Friend. You add an important fourth (as in four leaf clover): laughter. Another incredible post. They do seem to be getting deeper on this new platform. Deep is good, the way you handle it lightly with flashes of humor. And cheekbones. And dads, and Dolly. Keep em coming!
As always, the pics are magic. I like when you talk creatively about yourself, building a mythos of understanding. It's always interesting to see bow each of us see and understand ourselves, and communicate ourselves through referential experience. And that includes me on myself. you give your dad the lead. My myth is I soaked up values from other nearby males, to compensate for the absent father I did not have. Either way, like you, I miss him now. Still. I think this makes us more creative, though I'm not sure how. Happy easter to you, your extending family, and that glowing torch of a woman you walk around with, learning sensuality one willowy step at a time.
You brought me to a little tear regarding your father. Mine was a tough Irish kid raised on the streets (literally) of Chicago. How he hated "phonies" and cheats. Could spot one a mile away just like Russ Russert...a generation gone. But he never forgot a joke he had heard or failed to charm an audience.
Loved this. I used to tell my students that there are no magic wands, just hard work, but with that hard work, there could be magical moments. Thanks for the magic you bring to each week!
Hi Anne. So true. What was the old Dodger general manager's quote: "Luck is the residue of hard work?" I think that's what Branch Rickey used to say. Or, "Success is the residue of hard work." Something along those same lines.
I don't write as beautifully as both you and Carroll, but "Hope. Love. Gratitude....call them the holy trinity of a really solid life" is spot on! Thanks for your your thoughtfulness and silliness...a perfect combo!
Ascot &Erskine don’t compute …T’s, sweat shirts (by the way, if you don’t have any Reyn Spooner* shirts, you should!) & Levi’s is my take on the essentials of your everyday garb.
Since you have sports pages tucked into your pillow...Are you a March Madness fan? Did you see the final nearly half court shot made by UConn Husky Freshman, Braylon Mullins? It was so awesome!! UConn advances to the final four-YEAH!

Caroll, and your comments are always the grand dessert. Thank you.

We all say things differently, it's our fingerprint. I like how you put this. Thank you.
Tim Conway was the best at cracking me up. Angie made many men happy. Who could blame them? How’s she doing?
She’s hanging in there
I’ve never seen you wearing an ascot. Please post a picture!
Joe, careful what you ask for!

*expensive but low maintenance & attractive.
Usually available at the Brookside golf shop.
Once again, you made me laugh out loud more than once! Thanks!
Thanks Michael. That's what I'm here for!
Paradigm is a funny, weird word!
Right? Never understood why it caught on so much. Mostly among pretentious types.
Are those Descanso tulips. They are one of the most beautiful flowers!

Of course I did. Duke gave them a chance and UConn made the most of it. March Magic.
