Exquisite. Touching. Honors Posh in the best way possible. I remember your past columns about her and know that honoring her children and grandchildren is the best possible way to honor her. Thank you for this tribute to her.

Your tribute to your wife was sad, beautiful and deeply moving. Having lost both my spouse (also 8 years ago) and a daughter, I could relate to so much of what you wrote. Thank you for sharing your love story and your grief so honestly. It touched my heart ❤️

Thanks, Kathy. A suppose a letter to Heaven is a good way to process grief and remind ourselves how important they remain to us.

Chris, this may be one of your most beautiful and touching posts ever. The description of the relationship between a grandmother and her oldest grandchild is precious and true. Thank you for touching hearts, once again.

Oh Chris ❤️❤️❤️...

You hit this one out of the park. As we've come to know Posh thru the years she was alive and now through the memories you share, she warms my heart! I can just feel you all bustling around your home. A wonderful feel to start my day.

Tears! I'm some humor columnist, right? But thank you for your kind words.

The saddest and sweetest post. Thank you for continuing to share Posh with us all these years later. And thanks for being so honest about the things that will always suck. Such a great reminder for me to appreciate what I’ve got today. I’m sure Posh is pressing the Substack Like button from Heaven.

Through your columns all those years, and her visit to the AoP so long ago, Posh was our friend, too. So, thank you for this beautiful trip down memory lane. Emotional, sure, but very well done. Clearly her love for her family shines in those kiddos every day, and will for a very, very long time.

Chris this has to be up there in the top two columns that you’ve written. So beautiful, so touching, so honest. I’m on a plane and people are staring as the tears roll down my face. Even though your grandchildren never knew Posh personally, they love her just the same because of all the beautiful ways you and your children have kept her alive in their hearts. I’m sure she looks down from heaven daily, smiling, and saying “hey everyone those are my incredible kids and grandkids…..boy was I blessed.” And they say to her….”they were the ones who were blessed”. Giant hugs and prayers to you Chris and your beautiful family❤️

Its so hard trying to type through the tears. What a lovely tribute to Posh and to your kids for their accomplishments in life. They always say, when a mother passes things fall apart, but in your case they didn't. Kudos to you too for keeping everyone together, and as a first born daughter, we do try hard to keep traditions and carry on the legacy of our moms. You have a great family, how lucky you are in the face of the tragedies you have faced.

My eyes are still wet as I write this. Such a beautiful tribute to your wife. I am a grandmother to two wonderful little girls, lucky to have lived long enough to know them. Thank you for making me appreciate this even more.

Well, if you're not starting off your weekend with a big cry, are you really living at all? Thank you for making us cry, and for sharing so much of the pain and beauty in your life. It helps all of us.

I have always felt your best columns are the letters you write to yourself, and then graciously share with us. You make me feel like I know, and care for, every member of your family. Today you were definitely on your game--four for four.
